Grades: distinguish between A, B, C and Z grades.

A smartphone doesn't have to be new to be fully functional. You may be able to meet a customer's needs by offering a used model at a lower price, without forcing the customer to sacrifice the features they need.

At WD International, we use a rating system for our used iPhones to make our pricing transparent and easy to understand. We have four grades: Grade A, Grade B, Grade C and Grade Z.

These smartphones go through a series of tests to determine which grade they belong to. These tests are carried out using software that tests the headphones, the touchscreen, the Face ID and also the microphone. If the phone suffers a fault, it will be assigned a Z grade. The visual aspect is of particular importance when awarding grades, as it is the first factor taken into account when analysing the smartphone.

Note that phones ranging from grade A to grade C are guaranteed for 3 months, and that our iPhones have a battery integrity of at least 70%.

Let's move on to the details of each grade.

 

Grade A - Perfect condition

Although this is clearly a second-hand device, the phone will be in perfect condition. The screen and chassis will show little or no signs of wear, with only minor scratches or marks.

(The small stains are only a reflection)

Grade B - Very good condition

Indicates that the phone will be in very good condition overall. The screen and chassis will show some signs of wear and tear and some minor scratches from daily use.

 

Grade C - Correct condition

Indicates that the phone will be in good condition. The screen and chassis may have pronounced scratches, but the phone will be in good working order. The chassis may have lost its colour and have dull spots due to wear.

Grade Z - Requires repair.

This is the lowest grade a phone can be given. This range is made up of phones that have suffered damage such as a broken screen, non-functional camera or cracked back cover. These phones are sold at slightly more reasonable prices depending on the damage they have sustained.

It's also worth remembering that Apple has dominated the mobile phone market for several years, selling 90.1 million iPhones in just one quarter in 2020. Every day, WD International contributes to sustainable development by reconditioning some of its spare parts and using grading. In fact, by recycling, selling or donating your devices, you are giving them a second life!
